Eshan Malinga is a young 24-year-old pacer from Sri Lanka. He made his debut for the Sri Lankan national side this year, in 2025, against New Zealand in Wellington. He has experience playing in various leagues and played in the SA20 for Pulse Royals, where he took 4 wickets in 4 matches. He also played in the Lanka Premier League for Kandy Kings, where he participated in only one match.
Eshan Malinga’s qualities
Eshan Malinga’s bowling action isn’t as slingy as Lasith Malinga’s, but he specialises in death overs, which is what Sunrisers Hyderabad is looking for. SRH acquired him for 1.2 crores, and he can clock speeds of over 140 km per hour. He has extensive experience playing in international tournaments like the Emerging Asia Cup and youth cricket.
