Pakistan Super League (PSL) side Multan Sultans has zeroed in on Catherine Dalton as their new bowling coach for the upcoming season. The official announcement is expected to arrive later in the day. The 30 year old will become the first female coach in the history of PSL. But who is Catherine Dalton? Let’s find out.

Born in England, Catherine Dalton acquired Irish citizenship in 2015. Since then, she has played in four ODIs and four T20 internationals for Ireland.
Currently, Catherine is a ECB Level 3 coach and has a 1st Class Honours Degree from St Mary’s University College, London.
In addition to being a cricketer, Catherine has also been a footballer for two big clubs of English football, namely West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Catherine always focused on cricket despite being good at football. She had joined Essex to play county cricket in 2007 and played for five years in the same team.
Catherine moved to Middlesex in 2012 and instantly made her mark. She was named as Middlesex Player of the Year in 2013. Catherine returned to Essex in 2019.
Catherine smashed an unbeaten 214 against Bishop’s Stortford in an ECB Premier League game for Finchley CC, a competition record which stands to this day.
This is not the first time Catherine will coach a men’s team. The Irish all-rounder joined the Rajasthan Cricket Association as a bowling coach. She became the first female to have such an honour bestowed for men’s cricket.
She has also taken up the responsibility of the Assistant Head Coach of The National Fast Bowling Academy in England.
With the addition of Catherine Dalton, Multan Sultans will surely look forward to a stellar season in PSL.
