India’s newly appointed head coach, Gautam Gambhir confirmed in the press conference ahead of the India vs Sri Lanka white ball series that Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate will join the series as assistant coaches.
Gambhir and these recently worked together to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the IPL 2024 title. Their first assignment with the national team will begin on July 27, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka.
Who is Abhishek Nayar?
Abhishek Nayar was born on October 8, 1983. He has played for the Indian cricket team as an all-rounder with left-handed batting and a right-arm medium pace. In domestic cricket, he has played for Mumbai and also played in the Indian Premier League for teams including the Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Pune Warriors, and Rajasthan Royals. He played in his 100th first-class match in November 2018.
