Cummins was bagged by SRH for a monumental Rs 20.5 cr. Riding at the back of a World Cup win, the IPL 2024 auction was just a cherry on top for the pacer, who is now eyeing the T20 World Cup 2024 next, for which IPL is the rehearsal stage. Cummins opened up on what he was up to when he was bagged for the record prize by SRH.
As per Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian skipper cherished his time at home, even though it was scarce. Cummins welcomed his entry into SRH with a glass of Tasmanian whisky at his home in Bronte.
He revealed that although he wanted to do more things, he had a family and hence a balance had to be maintained. Cummins further revealed that he had zero regrets on pulling out of IPL 2023 in accordance with his plan for Australia matches.
“It’s just so rare you have a home-cooked meal and sit on the couch at home,” Cummins said. “You do cherish it.”

Pat Cummins’s expensive bid was perhaps fueled by the fact that he ticked all the boxes as Australia captain in 2023. This year, Cummins helped Australia win the World Test Championship, defend the Ashes successfully in England and then won the 2023 Cricket World Cup after being at the bottom of the points table at one stage.
Pat Cummins will make rs 1 crore per game, Rs 25 lakh per over and Rs 4 lakh per delivery. That is provided he plays all the matches and bowls 4 overs in all those games, of course!
