Just 2 days remain for the much anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC T20 World Cup. Ahead of the match, ace Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir has lavished praises for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Amir claimed that it is very difficult to bowl to Rohit as he is a very good batter. On the other hand, Amir recounted how Virat kept his promise and gifted the bowler his own bat.
Amir recounts on getting Virat Kohli’s bat
Amir has been a strong admirer of Kohli and the Indian Cricket Team for a long time. He went on to claim how he once wanted Virat Kohli‘s bat during the Asia Cup. The ace Indian batter however, kept his promise and gifted Amir his bat during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
“The bat story started in Bangladesh when Asia Cup was taking place. After the match, me and Imad Wasim were walking towards the dressing room. We saw Virat coming towards us. So, Imad checked Virat’s bat. So I said ‘Leave Imad, I need your bat'”.
“So Virat promised me. He said you are coming to India for the World Cup, I will give you my bat there. So he was practicing in Kolkata and I shouted to him ‘where is my bat?’ He said ‘yes I have brought it’ and then after the practice, he gave me his bat,” recounted Mohammad Amir.
Rohit Sharma – Best batter in the World?
“Rohit Sharma is a World Class player, when he is set, then he is a very difficult & dangerous batter to Bowl – He is one of the Best Bater in the World,” Mohammad Amir told Star Sports.
The two arch rivals will lock horns at the Nassau Stadium in New York. Ahead of the match, Amir showcased the much respect that he has for the two ace Indian batters. He claimed bowling to Rohit is very difficult. He even acknowledged the Indian Cricket Team skipper as one of the Best batters in the World.
