When will BCCI announce India’s squad for Champions Trophy?

BCCI is yet to announce team India's squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.

The much-awaited Champions Trophy 2025 will kick-start next month. The event is hosted by Pakistan, but Team India will play its matches in the UAE. So far, BCCI has not announced India’s squad for the Champions Trophy, but the wait could be over soon. To note, team India reached the final match of the last Champions Trophy but lost to arch-rivals Pakistan. The Men in Blue will look to repat their antics of 2013 Champions Trophy and win the tournament this time around.

When will BCCI announce India’s Champions Trophy squad?

As per Zee News, the wait for India’s squad for Champions Trophy 2025 will soon be over, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) set to announce India’s squad for Champions Trophy on January 11, 2025. This comes just ahead of the January 12 deadline set by the ICC for all participating nations to submit their final squads.

Group A includes hosts and reigning Champions Trophy winners Pakistan, alongside India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Group B comprises Cricket World Cup 2023 champions Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan, all vying for the prestigious white winners’ jackets.

The tournament kicks off with Pakistan facing New Zealand in the Group A opener in Karachi on February 19. Dubai’s fixtures begin the next day, with India playing against Bangladesh. Group B action starts on February 21, as Afghanistan takes on South Africa in Karachi.

A highly anticipated weekend follows, with England facing Australia in Lahore on February 22 and the much-awaited Pakistan-India clash taking place the day after.
