When Shakib Al Hasan last played in IPL
Shakib Al Hasan last played in the IPL for KKR in October 2021, when the competition was held in Dubai. His final game came against CSK at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where his outing was not memorable as he was dismissed for a duck. In total, this left-handed star played 8 games, scoring 47 runs, and with the ball, he took 4 wickets with an economy of 7.19.
He played eight games that season, as he opted out after citing international commitments and personal reasons. He was also out of the league for the 2022 season. In the 2023 auction, he was re-signed by KKR for ₹1.5 crore but pulled out again for IPL 2023.
Speaking more about Shakib’s IPL career, he has played for two IPL teams, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He played for KKR from 2011 to 2017 and again in 2021, while he was with SRH in 2018 and 2019. Not to forget, this superstar was part of KKR in 2012 and 2014 when the franchise won the IPL.
Will Shakib Al Hasan play in IPL 2025?
Now, it all depends on the IPL auction policy structure and the mega auction rules that will be implemented. After KKR released him in IPL 2023, there has been no sign of Shakib in the IPL. However, with the mega auction approaching, many big players are expected to go under the hammer, and there is a possibility that he may choose to put his name forward as well. Although he has retired from international cricket in two formats, there remains a chance that he will continue to play in league cricket.
