The Indian cricket team is set to return to limited-overs cricket, after some thrilling test matches—though they didn’t end well for India, as they lost several of the 10 matches they played, including 2 Tests against Bangladesh, 3 against New Zealand, and 5 Tests against Australia, in total winning 3 and losing 7—their recent debacle came against Australia with a 1-3 score line, knocking them out of contention for the WTC final. Now, all eyes are on India’s limited-overs fixtures, with the Champions Trophy being the pinnacle, and India will look to make their mark. India will kickstart their white-ball games soon, as on January 22, they will begin with T20 matches against England. After that, they will play three ODIs, followed by a focus on the Champions Trophy. It is expected that many big players, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah, may rest during the ODI series to stay fresh for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Speaking about the T20Is, the young guns will get another chance under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy.
