A day after his retirement, BCCI uploaded a video of Ravichandran Ashwin having fun in the nets with Team India's support staff

Ravichandran Ashwin has countless memories to cherish, both on and off field. The Tamil Nadu spinner took the world by surprise after announcing his decision to retire midway through the IND vs AUS Test series. The veteran is known to have shared a great camaraderie with his teammates, and more so with the support staff, be it in the Indian Premier League (IPL) or with the India cricket team

In a video shared by BCCI a day after Ashwin‘s retirement, the spinner is seen encouraging the Team India support staff to bowl in the nets. A career that started in 2010, Ashwin saw many ups — along with winning the 2011 World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy, and two-time finalist of the World Test Championships. It must be admitted that R Ashwin proved to be the most effective in Test matches, where he not only won numerous matches for India with ball, but with the bat as well.

Ashwin decided to fly out of Brisbane immediately after announcing his retirement. He arrived in his hometown Chennai on Thursday morning where he provided an update on his future. The veteran spinner categorically stated that his career as a cricketer was far from over. He added that he intended to play for as long as possible with CSK in the IPL while adding that he felt a deep sense of relief and satisfaction while announcing his decision to hang up his boots.
