What is the Women’s T20 World Cup prize money? Find out

Recently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a record rise in Women's T20 World Cup prize money.

After some exciting brand of cricket, we have reached the final match of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup. The South Africa women are set to take on New Zealand women in the final match of the tournament. Apart from the prestigious trophy, the winning team will also be awarded with bumper cash prize money. On that note, let us check out what is the Women’s T20 World Cup prize money.

Women T20 World Cup prize money

Recently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a record rise in Women’s T20 World Cup prize money. The victorious team will walk away with a prize money of $2.34 million as it sees a surge of a staggering 134% from the $1 million that Australia won in 2023.

The runners-up also sees a similar rise and will receive $1.17 million, while the semi-finalists will secure $675,000 each, three times more than the 2023 edition. The teams exiting the group stage will also earn $112,500, the base
prize awarded to all 10 participants, aggregating $1.125 million.

The sides finishing fifth to eighth will receive $270,000 each and teams standing ninth and 10th in the points table will walk away with $135,000 each. This is not only a significant step from the ICC to ensure parity between men’s and women’s games, but also to make sure that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is among the most anticipated events in the
cricketing calendar.

Where to watch the Women’s T20 World Cup final?

The final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be broadcast on the Star Sports Network in India. The live streaming will be available for live streaming on the Disney+Hotstar app and website. The New Zealand Women vs South Africa Women match will start at 07:30 PM as per the Indian timings.
