There was a time when Royal Challengers Bengaluru just could not win a game. Virat Kohli’s side were winless in 6 games on a trot and were reeling at the bottom place of the IPL table. Cut to now, they are firmly in the race for IPL playoffs. Faf du Plessis’ team have won 5 consecutive games and sit at the 5th place of the IPL table. So what has changed for RCB? What is the reason for such a drastic turnaround? RCB skipper du Plessis has revealed the reason.
From bottom to a fighting chance: RCB’s journey
RCB still need to win their remaining game to qualify for the playoffs. They have 12 points from 13 matches and would need to win their last game against CSK by a considerable margin to qualify for the playoffs. However, a month ago, this was a distant dream for RCB. The reason for the turnaround has been revealed by the skipper.

Du Plessis reveals reason
“Brilliant, we have put up a great performance. It’s just confidence. First half of the season, we were just fighting for it. First five or six games, we couldn’t get wickets, now three times or so we have bowled opposition out,” Faf du Plessis said after RCB hammered DC in Bengaluru.
“Lot of work has gone behind the scene. I feel like behind closed doors, we are getting it right, we are talking about our process and what we need to achieve,” he added.
