In what is going to be a mouth-watering contest, South Africa are all set to lock horns with underdogs Afghanistan in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup. The clash which is scheduled to be held at the Brain Lara stadium in Trinidad, however, faces the potential threat of rain. What could this mean for both teams if nature decides to rain down on them? Let’s find out.
What rain threat to South Africa vs Afghanistan means?
There is a reserve day in place for the first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan which will take place on June 26. If rain plays spoilsport and forces the game to be abandoned on Day 1, then play will take place on the next day.
However, if the game gets washed out on the reserve day as well, then South Africa will proceed to the finals of the T20 World Cup on the virtue of having topped the table in the Super 8 stage.
