Rain has played spoilsport in IPL Final. The toss has been delayed. It is absolutely pouring in Ahmedabad with the covers on across the field at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It has been relentless for the past hour and looks unlikely to slow down. Even if the rain stops, the groundstaff will have some work on their hands to make the ground conditions fit to play.

As things stand, there is a reserve day for the IPL 2023 Final. In order for the IPL 2023 championship game to be decided, both teams must play at least five overs apiece. The game will only move to a reserve day if the set of overs is not completed. There will be no overs lost up until 9.35 pm local time. Additionally, the cutoff time for a five-over game is 12.06 a.m.
If a five-overs-per-side match cannot be played, a Super Over may be played; the deadline for this is 1:20 am. Should the game be washed out, it will be the Gujarat Titans who are crowned champions of IPL 2023. Hardik Pandya’s side finished above MS Dhoni’s CSK in the league stage and the standings will be taken into consideration to declare a winner.
