Star India and RCB batsman Virat Kohli might have ended up on the losing side in the recent clash between against KKR, but his unbeaten knock of 83 runs was a definite highlight for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Despite his valiant effort, the team fell short of the target and lost their second IPL 2024 game by seven wickets.
However, Kohli’s night wasn’t all about the loss. In a light-hearted moment after the match, teammate Glenn Maxwell awarded Kohli the ‘RCB’s Player of the Match’ title. This was further amplified when Kohli was presented with a gift hamper of goodies. Taking the moment in stride, Kohli quipped, “I really look forward to his hamper. Every night I think about it (Hamper),” drawing laughter from his teammates and the support staff. Kohli’s humor provided a much-needed silver lining after the disappointing defeat.

After his witty response, Virat Kohli also addressed to his RCB teammates and asked them to stay focused and not lose heart following the loss.
“But on the serious note, we had a tough night, we all know that. We are much better than that. As long as we accept it and move forward with the same courage and same belief in our skills, that’s all we can come up with.”
