The IND vs SL series is finally over. But it is all worries for the Indian Cricket Team. Sri Lanka broke a 27-year drought when they went on to beat India fair and squad 2-0 in the ODI series. Following the loss, it is now time for Team India to hit the reset button given that only 3 ODI matches remain before the ICC Champions Trophy.
While India Cricket Team swept the hosts apart 3-0 in the T20I series, the role was reversed in the ODI series. The first game ended in a draw while Sri Lanka won the next two games to clinch a memorable win.
Team India to hit Reset button
Now for the next 6 months, India won’t be playing any ODI matches. Interestingly, India will play only 3 ODI matches in February of 2025 before the ICC Champions Trophy. And with this series done and dusted, it is time for IND vs SL ODI series team India will have to hit the reset button.
One of the major faults for the Men in Blue will be boost their batting attack. Despite having a huge depth in batting, the entire unit faltered on three occasions. Tasked to chase on three occasions, Sri Lanka was able to trigger batting collapse.
While India has a tacked schedule comprising of T20Is and Test matches, Gautam Gambhir and his side will be determined to prepare in the 50-over format. The only saving grace would be India’s heroics in the ODI World Cup. Rohit Sharma and his side went undefeated into the finals, only to lose the all-important game to Australia.
