The India Cricket Team are in a major spot of bother. Rohit Sharma and Co have lost the Test series to New Zealand at home, India’s first loss at home in 12 years. And with the Border Gavaskar Trophy looming in the horizon, there are quite a few changes that are needed in the team.
In an ideal scenario, the two seniors Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should be dropped. But then again, it will be difficult to win against the mighty Aussies without the two seniors. However, in the last tour, India did in fact win the BGT devoid of seniors.

New Additions in the Team – Time for New Debuts
After the horror show against the Kiwis, it is safe to say that new faces are needed in the team. Abhimanyu Easwaran is one such name that has been popping in the headlines for quite some time. He has been exceptional in domestic cricket in recent times and is desperate to break into the India Playing XI.
While he faltered in the India A vs Australia A, but his inclusion in the 1st Test of the IND vs AUS Test is paramount. With Rohit Sharma not likely to feature, it would be a perfect opportunity for the Bengal batter to get his chance in the team.
Inclusion of KL Rahul in Playing XI
KL Rahul is one of the senior batters and players on the team. And in a foreign series in SENA Countries, experience is key. While his form has been top-notch, but he is a player whose style is tailor-made for Test cricket. While the youngsters desperately look to play aggressive cricket and need a release shot after playing a couple of dot balls, KL Rahul is made of different gravy.
He has the temperament to play long hauls without being too aggressive. And unlike last time, without Rahane and Pujara, KL Rahul is the best option that the country has in the longest format of the game.
India’s squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Mohd.
