Ahead of the West Indies cricket team’s first Test match against England at Lord’s, England’s sovereign King Charles hosted the visiting team. As he met the squad at Buckingham Palace, Charles, the head of the Commonwealth, showed his concern and care for those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
King Charles concerned with Cyclone Beryl
High Commissioners from the Caribbean region joined the team. Following the deaths and devastation brought about by the hurricane, the King earlier this week sent the people in the area his and his family’s “heartfelt condolences.”
According to Buckingham Palace, Charles had a conversation with the prime ministers of Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Jamaica on Friday to get a better understanding of the ground situation.
It is recognized that the King has requested to be updated on the circumstances affecting those impacted by Hurricane Beryl and that he will probably speak with officials once more in the days to come.
