We play the ball: KS Bharat not excited by England’s rookie spin attack

England Cricket Team will have two spinners in IND vs ENG 2nd Test with a combined international experience of 1 Test but KS Bharat is focused on playing the ball.

0-1 down, India Cricket Team need to bounce back in IND vs ENG 2nd Test. And what could be more exciting than England deploying two spinners with a combined international experience of 1 match. However, KS Bharat is not very excited by that fact. Instead, the Indian wicketkeeper says, playing the ball is the focus.

“We don’t play the bowlers, we play the ball. On any given day, it can be experienced or inexperienced (bowler), there is nothing like inexperienced in cricket. On that particular day, if someone bowls well, you have to give credit to them,” KS Bharat said at the pre-match press conference ahead of IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag.

England have received a further blow with Jack Leach missing out with a knee injury. Shoaib Bashir, who has only played 6 First Class matches will make his Test debut on Friday. Tom Hartley is the other one who made his Test debut in the last game. Joe Root is the third spinner but he is only a part-timer.

Team relaxed despite loss

India fell 28 runs short in the first Test as debutant Tom Hartley bagged seven wickets in the 2nd innings.

And that opened the pandora’s box. The team received heavy criticism with Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer at the heart of it. However, as the storm was brewing outside, the message from the seniors was to keep calm.

“After the game, the atmosphere is absolutely relaxed. They told us not to panic, which we are not. But then the instruction is very clear, it’s a long Test series and we have played a lot of series like this in the past,” KS Bharat revealed.
