Punjab Kings on Sunday suffered another defeat at the hands of last year’s finalists Gujarat Titans at Mullanpur Stadium. PBKS lagged at the 9th place in the IPL table with two wins from eight matches courtesy the defeat. However, Punjab Kings Bowling Coach Charl Langeveldt vowed to fight back, claiming they will treat every game like a semi-final now.
Sam Curran won the toss and elected to bat first. After getting off to a good start in the powerplay, PBKS lost their way, giving their wickets away to GT spinners. They could only put 142 runs on the board, which GT chased with 5 balls to spare.
‘Potential game-changers’
Bowling Coach Charl Langeveldt after the match said, “Very disappointed. I think we had a good powerplay with the bat for the first time 3 matches. But their spinners were too good in the middle overs for our batters. We need middle-order to get more runs. We were probably 29 short on that wicket.“
On playing in Dharamshala next
PBKS will play their next home matches in Dharamshala. When asked about it, Langeveldt said, “The batters are going to be happy about the next venue. The bowlers need to step up as well. Hopefully Dharamshala is going to be a good venue for us.”

‘There is a lot to play for’

We are going to treat every game like a semi-final. We are a positive side, the boys showed a lot of character. We need to have a belief that there is a lot to play for,” Langeveldt added.
