Watch: Yuvraj Singh fires up in war of words with Caribbean star in IML final

Yuvraj Singh and Tino Best engaged in a heated exchange during the IML 2025 final, creating a tense on-field moment.

The International Masters League 2025 ended with the India Masters, which was led by Sachin Tendulkar, taking home the trophy. They defeated West Indies Masters by six wickets in the final match held in Raipur. Tensions rose during the game when Yuvraj Singh and Tino Best had an on-field confrontation, exchanging heated words.

Yuvaraj Singh’s verbal exchange

The incident occurred after 13 overs when India needed 35 runs from 7. The drama began when Tino Best finished his over and wanted to leave the field, possibly due to an injury. Yuvraj Singh raised this with the umpire, Billy Bowden, who called Best back onto the field. This didn’t sit well with Tino Best who then confronted Yuvraj. They exchanged words, and tensions ran high. Commentator Darren Gough said, “He (Tino Best) is someone who doesn’t back down. He is someone who likes to have a chat.”

Yuvraj’s response to Tino

Yuvraj Singh responded to the confrontation by hitting a massive six after taking strike again. He pointed his bat towards Tino Best, evoking memories of his famous six sixes against Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup after a spat with Andrew Flintoff. However, they made peace during a strategic time-out break. Yuvraj playfully patted Tino Best on the back, showing there’s no hard feelings.

India Masters’ commanding win

In the match, India Masters chased down a target of 149 set by West Indies Masters, with Ambati Rayudu scoring 74 runs. They won with six wickets in hand and 17 balls to spare. Earlier, West Indies Masters scored 148/7, with Lendl Simmons and Dwayne Smith contributing 57 and 45 runs, respectively. For India Masters, Vinay Kumar took three wickets and Shahbaz Nadeem picked up two. Sachin Tendulkar added some classic shots of his own, making 25 runs from 18 balls. Prior to this match, India Masters had defeated Australia Masters in the semi-finals.
