Chris Gayle, a former player for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, reunited with former teammate Virat Kohli on Saturday in the team’s changing room at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Gayle, who partnered with Virat Kohli to open the RCB innings in the past, was overjoyed to witness his old team defeat the Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling victory that advanced them to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs. In the video released by RCB, Kohli can be seen telling Gayle about his feat of hitting most sixes. Kohli even jokingly urges Gayle to come back to RCB next year and play as an impact player.
Dream comeback for RCB
At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Gayle watched the RCB create history on Saturday. They defeated the Chennai Super Kings by a score of 27 runs. They managed to secure a berth in the IPL playoffs against all odds. RCB emerged as the first team to earn a spot in the playoffs despite only one victory in their first seven games of the season.

When Gayle entered the dressing room, Kohli is seen telling him about his feat of hitting most sixes in the tournament.
“Maximum sixes this season, yeah? 37!” Kohli tells Gayle in the video. After that, Kohli is seen asking Gayle to make a comeback to IPL next year.
“Come back next year, Impact player is on now, you won’t have to field anymore. It’s designed for you.” Kohli jokingly said.
Gayle also got a jersey signed gifted by the RCB batter.
