Furthermore, Kohli didn’t stop at that. He also showcased his dance moves to the song ‘Chaleya’ from the movie ‘Jawan’ of Shah Rukh Khan.
IND vs SA: Virat Kohli equals Sachin Tendulkar’s record
On Sunday, Virat Kohli added another remarkable achievement to his illustrious cricket career when he scored a century at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens against the Proteas. This remarkable feat saw him equal the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 One Day International (ODI) centuries. Despite the challenging batting conditions, as acknowledged by Kohli himself, he managed to score unbeaten 101 runs from 121 deliveries. His innings included ten boundaries but no sixes.
In the match, Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, once again displayed their bowling prowess, remaining undefeated in the ODI World Cup 2023. India batted first and posted a substantial total of 326 runs on the scoreboard, thanks to Kohli’s century, an aggressive half-century from Shreyas Iyer for the second consecutive game, and valuable contributions from captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja.
The pitch’s sluggish nature suggested that India had posted a challenging totalk. This proved to be accurate as the Indian bowlers proved to be too much for the South African team to handle. Ravindra Jadeja, in particular, shone with the ball, taking five wickets, and India dismissed South Africa for a mere 83 runs in 27.1 overs. With this win, India will finish at the top of the points table with a match remaining against the Netherlands.
