Stop the press! Watch Virat Kohli bowling in ODIs after 6 years

Virat Kohli bowls in ODIs after 6 years as he filled in for injured Hardik Pandya to bowl three deliveries amid huge cheer from Pune crowd.

Fans in Pune came to watch Virat Kohli bat and perhaps score a century. But they were treated with Virat Kohli returning to bowl in IND vs BAN game after 6 years in ODI cricket. The miracle happened after Hardik Pandya had to be taken off as he suffered an ankle injury while bowling the 9th over. Kohli filled in to bowl the remaining three deliveries in the India vs Bangladesh Cricket World Cup clash.

Virat Kohli last bowled in 2017 against Sri Lanka in Colombo. In fact, he bowled two full overs, going for 12 runs without any success.

The last time he bagged a wicket in ODIs was back in 2014 when he dismissed Brendon McCullum. Kohli bowled 7 overs in that match.

Fans delighted

And with Virat Kohli returning to bowling, it of course delighted fans. Not every day, do you get to see the great batsman bowl. Those who are unaware, Virat Kohli is marked as a right-arm quick bowler. But he despises his bowling action.

“God had cursed me with this terrible action. I don’t know, I can find rhythm by bowling it that particular way only. Even if I bowl spin, I bowl in that very manner,” Virat Kohli said on a show.
