Coming to the match, heavy rainfall at the venue prevented any further play on Day 5, leaving India just eight wickets away from victory and the West Indies needing 289 runs to level the series. Consequently, both captains had no choice but to call off the game early.

This marked India’s remarkable ninth consecutive Test series win against West Indies, a feat accompanied by the creation of a new record for the fastest team 100, achieved in just 12.2 overs during the second innings of the Test.

Mohammed Siraj deservedly earned the player of the match award for his exceptional performance in the first innings, where he recorded career-best figures of 23.4-6-60-5. His remarkable display led to the Windies collapsing from 229/5 to 255 all-out on the third day. Virat Kohli also showcased his brilliance with a remarkable century, marking his 29th in Test cricket.
