Starks was introduced to some Indian cricket stars including Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah by former India player Yuvraj Singh before the match.

If one is planning to follow cricket for the first time, there cannot be a better game to start from than India vs Pakistan. That is exactly what happened to NBA legend John Starks. Starks was present at the Nassau County Stadium in New York on Sunday. He witnessed India’s win over Pakistan at the T20 World Cup 2024. Starks was introduced to some Indian cricket stars including Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah by former India player Yuvraj Singh before the match.

Virat Kohli was introduced to Starks by Yuvraj Singh as the ‘Gold’ of India. Kohli was as humble as ever upon meeting the NBA legend, addressing Starks as ‘Sir’ and asking about his well-being.

Kohli asked Starks if the match was his first cricket game, to which Starks answered in the affirmative. Virat wanted to know if Starks understood the rules of the game. Starks credited Yuvraj Singh and said, “Getting taught by the best.”

Virat followed up the answer with his own praise of Yuvraj Singh, saying Yuvraj had the best swing in the game. “That’s why he plays Golf now. Basketball? Knees are no good,” Virat joked, before signing off as Starks wished Kohli and the team all the best for the game.
