Watch: Virat Kohli & Jasprit Bumrah sweat it out in intense nets session at WACA

The players from the indian cricket team, including Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah hit the WACA nets with intensity, as Team India gears up for the upcoming Test series against Australia with focused training.

Team India is gearing up for the challenging five-match Test series against Australia, practising super-hard at Perth’s Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) Stadium. The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) is set to take place at the WACA, and the players are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.

Video of Kohli and Bumrah’s Practice Session

Australia’s Fox Cricket, recently shared footage of India’s intense training session, where Virat Kohli is skillfully handling pace bowling and Jasprit Bumrah delivering on the nets. Virat Kohli spent 30 minutes on the nets, batting.

In the footage, teammates Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan are also seen practising on the nets, while Gautam Gambhir was also keeping an eye on the lads, adding to the anticipation for the series opener.

Practice behind closed doors

To maintain focus, the WACA Stadium has been completely enclosed with nets, making it tough for the public and media to catch a glimpse of the practice sessions. With such a secure setup, spectators and reporters alike have struggled to get updates. However, a leaked video of star players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah practising at the nets has surfaced on social media.

Crucial series for WTC qualification

The stakes are high for India, especially following a 0-3 home series loss to New Zealand. To secure a place in the ICC World Test Championship final without relying on other teams’ results, India must win the series by at least a 4-0 margin. This five-match series is India’s final opportunity to secure its spot in the championship final, making the upcoming matches all the more critical.

Countdown to November 22

With Team India arriving in Australia two weeks prior to the series opener, the players have had ample time to adapt to the conditions. The first Test match begins on November 22, and the team is focused on bouncing back stronger, aiming for a place in the World Test Championship final.
