Virat Kohli is preparing to take down Proteas attack in Cape Town. Having hit 76 in the 1st Test in losing cause, King Kohli returned to practice on New Year Day in Cape Town. And with Ravichandran Ashwin bowling him in the nets, he got the full treatment ahead of SA vs IND 2nd Test that begins on Jan 3.
In the morning practice session, Virat Kohli lofted Ashwin for a six, stunning the veteran off-spinner.
Kohli who is known to have the same intensity in practice as he has in match usually goes full tilt against bowlers in the nets. And Ashwin had to bear the burnt.
After losing the SA vs IND 1st Test, Virat Kohli will play a crucial role in Cape Town. He is the only Indian batter with a good record in South Africa apart from KL Rahul.
With the Indian batters struggling against Protean pace attack, Kohli will be the man who holds the innings together.
India are 0-1 down in the two-match Test series and the aim will be to bounce back in Cape Town where they have never won a Test. But breaching Cape Town fortress is the only way India can draw the series and not return home empty-handed.
