Team India’s star Virat Kohli blew a flying kiss to wife Anushka Sharma after completing his record 50th ODI century during IND vs NZ Cricket World Cup semi-final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The couple shared a special moment as Kohli brought up his 50th ODI century, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar for most ODI tons.
Anushka was seen reciprocating her husband’s sweet public gesture with flying kisses from stands. Anushka has been attending the World Cup matches to show support to hubby Virat who has been in exceptional form in the tournament. The 35-year-old has scored 711 in the ongoing World Cup so far which is also a record for most runs scored in a single edition of the World Cup.
After the historic innings, Kohli mentioned his wife Anushka and said that it was special to score a historic century in front of her and his hero Sachin.
“It’s the stuff of dreams. My partner, the person I love the most is sitting there, my hero [Tendulkar] is sitting there. It’s very difficult for me to express it. My life partner, my hero – he’s sitting there. And all these fans at the Wankhede”, Kohli said.
Team India scored a mammoth 397 runs in 50 overs in the semi-final. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (105) and Shubman Gill (80*) scored big as the Men in Blue scored a record total in the knockout stage against the New Zealand.
