The weight of the victory lifted, the Indian players exploded in joyous celebration. A video uploaded by the ICC captured the team’s jubilant mood as they danced to the popular Bollywood song “Tunak Tunak” by Daler Mehndi. Virat Kohli and Arshdeep Singh, in particular, showcased their impressive Bhangra dance moves, setting the tone for the celebratory atmosphere.

From near defeat to glorious win

The victory wasn’t without its moments of anxiety. South Africa threatened to snatch victory from India’s grasp, needing just 30 runs off the final 30 balls after a powerful knock from Heinrich Klaasen.

However, the tide turned with the return of Jasprit Bumrah, who conceded a mere four runs in his third over. Hardik Pandya also stepped up, dismissing the dangerous Klaasen and bringing India back into the game.

Suryakumar Yadav stellar catch

With South Africa still needing 22 runs in the final three overs, Suryakumar Yadav produced a game-changing moment. A brilliant catch off David Miller’s bat, delivered by Pandya, effectively quashed South Africa’s hopes. Arshdeep Singh’s tight penultimate over, conceding only four runs, further tightened India’s grip on the match.

Hardik Pandya holds nerve

In a nail-biting final over, Hardik Pandya once again proved his mettle. He dismissed the in-form Miller with the very first ball, thanks to another superb catch from Yadav. With nerves of steel, Pandya successfully defended the remaining 15 runs in the last five balls, securing India’s second T20 World Cup title.

The celebratory dance to “Tunak Tunak” perfectly captured the team’s jubilation after a hard-fought and well-deserved victory. This win marks a significant moment in Indian cricket history, and the celebrations are sure to continue for a long time to come.
