New Zealand pacer Trent Boult produced another brilliant display on the field as he completed a fine catch at the boundary ropes to dismiss Bas de Leede. To note, the Blackcaps are facing the Netherlands in their second encounter of the World Cup in Hyderabad. Chasing a massive total of 323 runs, the Dutch side were already in trouble before Boult produced an absolute brilliant effort at the long-off boundary to give another blow to the Men in Orange.
The decision was sent upstairs to check if the catch taken by Trent Boult was clean. However, there were absolutely no problems for the third umpire to adjudge Leede out. Kane Williamson alongside other staff members sitting in the dugout looked delighted as Boult completed a stunner near the boundary ropes.
Earlier, Netherlands opted to bowl first
Earlier in the match, Netherlands didn’t give away any runs in the first three overs, with Devon Conway and Will Young tied up at respective ends. Once the duo got going, the Blacks Caps were off to a solid start eventually. Conway and Young added 67 runs for the first wicket, and it was the veteran spinner Roelof van der Merwe with the first breakthrough for the Dutch as the southpaw was holed out in the deep after scoring 32 off 40 balls.
Young (70 off 80) was brilliant. The right-handed opener and Rachin Ravindra (51 off 51) put together a partnership of 77 runs for the 2nd wicket, with the latter too getting to another 50+ score. Skipper Tom Latham (53 off 46) and Mitchell Santner (36 off 17) gave the finishing touches to the Kiwi innings.
