Trent Boult is breathing fire in the RR vs LSG match. The left-arm pacer sent Lucknow Super Kings star opener Quinton de Kock back to the pavilion in the first over of the inning and returned to send Devdutt Padikkal in the next over. Fascinatingly, all Boult needed was three balls to send the southpaw back into the hut and helped the Rajasthan Royals to get on top of the match.
The setup
He safely maneuvered an in-ducker from Boult on the last ball of the first over. On the first ball of the next over (3rd), the Kiwi pacer bowled a venomous short ball directed around his neck. Devdutt Padikkal tried to pull the ball but missed it completely, and it struck him on the flush on the helmet.
The result
Flustered up by the previous ball, it seemed like Padikkal was ready for another short one at his head. However, Boult bluffed him. Instead of a short ball at the head, he went for a back-of-a-length ball. The ball kept a touch low and jagged back in to peg back the middle stump, handing the Rajasthan Royals and Trent Boult a second breakthrough.
