Tilak Varma continued to impress fans and pundits as the youngster scored his maiden international half-century in the second T20I against West Indies at Providence Stadium in Guyana. The 20-year-old left-hander played a brilliant knock of 51 runs off 41 balls, which included 5 fours and 1 six. India were struggling 18/2 when Tilak Varma arrived but the youngster single handedly pushed India to a challenging total of 152.
Varma, who made his T20I debut in the first match of the series, had impressed with his 39-run cameo in a losing cause. He continued his good form in the second match, and showed his class and confidence against the West Indies bowlers. He was particularly aggressive against the spinners, and used his feet and wrists to hit some elegant shots.

Tilak surpasses Rishabh Pant
Varma’s half-century is also a record-breaking feat, as he became the second youngest Indian to score a fifty in T20Is. He surpassed wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant, who had scored his maiden T20I fifty at the age of 21 years and 138 days. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma still holds the record for being the youngest Indian to score a fifty at the age of 20 years and 143 days.
