Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera smashed six sixes in an over during the Asian Legends League, scoring a stunning 108 off 36 balls.

Sri Lanka’s legendary player Thisara Perera made headlines by hitting six consecutive sixes in a single over in the Asian Legends League 2025. The incident happened during the eliminator match against the Afghanistan Pathans. Batting first in the final over of the innings, Perera showed his power-hitting skills against Afghanistan’s left-arm spinner Ayaan Khan. Thanks to Perera’s explosive 108 runs off just 36 balls, Sri Lanka Lions won the match by 26 runs.

Strong Stand by Fernando and Perera

The match did not start well for Sri Lanka as they lost early wickets. Leo Fransisco and Tillakaratne Dilshan got out cheaply. Perera came to bat in the 10th over after Lasith Lakshan was run out. Perera hits the fifty in just 23 balls. Before the last over, he was batting aggressively with 72 runs off 30 balls. He hit two sixes each in the 18th and second-last over.

Perera’s Six-Six Streak

In the final over, Perera showed incredible show. Ayaan Khan started with a wide, and then Perera hit three sixes in a row. The next ball was another wide but Perera smashed another six right after. Ayaan bowled another wide, and Perera finished the innings with two more sixes. His innings included 13 sixes and only two fours. Perera and Fernando together added 155 runs in just 62 balls. Fernando also contributed a solid unbeaten 81 off 56 balls helping Sri Lanka Lions reach a huge total of 230/3.

Afghanistan’s brave effort

Afghanistan also lost early wickets in their reply. In the middle overs Ayaan Khan and captain Asghar Afghan tried to speed up the score. Ayaan scored 52 runs with eight fours and one six before getting out in the 15th over. Asghar Afghan hit his fifty in just 24 balls and continued with aggressive batting. In the 17th over he hit Perera for three sixes creating some late excitement. However Vikum Sanjaya ended any chance of a comeback by dismissing both the Afghan and Asad Pathan. Afghan scored a quick 70 off 31 balls with eight sixes but Afghanistan finished with 204/7 losing by 26 runs.
