There’s hardly anyone more chilled-out character in the Indian team than Suryakumar Yadav. Whether with a bat in hand or with his ‘down-to-earth’ nature to connect with the individuals, the Indian T20I skipper never fails to win hearts. Similar was the case when he showed why he’s one of the most beloved figures.
Watch: Fans mob Suryakumar Yadav
Following India’s commanding 86-run victory over Bangladesh in the second T20I at New Delhi, Suryakumar found himself at the centre of an impromptu fan gathering. As the match concluded, Suryakumar, who had been fielding near the boundary rope, suddenly found himself surrounded by an enthusiastic group of ball boys and other individuals. The scene quickly evolved into what could be described as a “mobbing,” with fans eager to get close to their cricket idol.
While security personnel attempted to manage the situation and create some distance between the star batter and his admirers, Suryakumar took matters into his own hands. Instead of retreating or allowing security to disperse the crowd, Suryakumar chose to embrace the moment. He took out his phone and began clicking selfies with the young fans gathered around him.
