The BAN vs NED match last week at Eden Gardens saw a low scoring encounter where bowlers had a productive outing.

However, the surface for IND vs SA suggests a high-scoring encounter between the top two sides.

Earlier, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid was seen taking a deep look at the surface. Dravid also had a brief chat with the pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee.

While speaking to PTI, curator Mukherjee revealed that Dravid was satisfied with the pitch. The curator also claimed that low scores in the previous games was due to poor batting display by teams and the pitch had nothing to do with it.

“The head coach seemed satisfied with the track. We have produced good wickets at Eden. The bounce will be even and batters will get value for their shots. But bottom line is, one needs to play well. Sri Lanka got all out for 55. Was it a bad track?” said Mukherjee.

Notably, Team India have already qualified for the semi-final of the World Cup after winning 7 consecutive games in the tournament. Meanwhile, South Africa are 2nd on points table with 6 wins and can secure the semi-final spot with a win on Sunday.
