Former New Zealand veteran Ross Taylor brought out the prestigious trophy ahead of India vs Australia final clash of the World Test Championship. To note, the Blackcaps won the inaugural edition of the championship after defeating India. Apparently, NZ skipper Kane Williamson had to present the trophy before the final match but owing to his injury, he was not present for the occassion.
Meanwhile, India won the toss and opted to have a field first at the Kennington Oval, London. The Indian side has gone with four seamers and one spin option in form of Ravindra Jadeja. Meanwhile, Scott Boland is playing for Australia as one of their premier pacer Josh Hazlewood has been sidelined due to injury.
“We are gonna bowl. Just the conditions and also its a bit overcast as well. We gotta play good cricket and come out on top. We got 4 seamers and 1 spinner that is Ravindra Jadeja. Its always been tough as Ashwin has been such a match winner for us over the years and leaving him on such an occasion has been a tough decision but you got to do the things that is needed for the team and eventually we came up with that decision,” said Rohit at the toss.
