Despite not being on the field for Day 3 of the Dharamshala Test, skipper Rohit Sharma has saved Sarfaraz Khan from an injury. Out with a stiff back, it was Jasprit Bumrah who helmed the role of skipper as England crumbled to Ravichandran Ashwin’s magic.
With the match coming to an end with England 8 down, Shoaib Bashir struck a short ball directly towards Sarfaraz, who was stationed at short-leg. The batter’s reflex took over, and he ducked as the ball came towards him. He was subsequently struck in the head. Luckily for him, he was wearing a helmet and wasn’t seriously injured.
Bashir checked on Sarfaraz Khan, and it was good to know that all was well. But one’s mind went straight to the last Test match, where Rohit had advised the youngster to not act like a hero and wear a helmet while fielding close in.
