On Thursday, July 4, the Indian cricket players’ first day in the nation was both joyful and busy. The culmination of the journey for captain Rohit Sharma happened at home, where he was warmly welcomed with a unique gesture by his friends and family.
The captain of India had a packed schedule. He had visited PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi earlier with the whole team. Soon after, they boarded a plane to return to Mumbai, where the players rode in an open bus parade with thousands of onlookers. The team was congratulated and given the winnings when they arrived at Wankhede Stadium.
