Rohit Sharma is a character on the field. The unfiltered Indian skipper is known to wear his heart on the sleeve and did so during the India vs England 3rd Test. With Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan extending the India cricket team’s lead past 500, everyone thought that the declaration was around the corner.
Not just experts and commentators; even Jaiswal and Sarfaraz thought that skipper Rohit was calling them back to the pavilion. However, it turned out that it was just a drinks break.
Seeing the duo make their way to the dressing room, Rohit Sharma started to gesture towards the youngsters as to why they were coming back and directed them to go back and bat for a bit longer.
The two young guys batted for a couple of overs and were eventually called back by their skipper as India set a 557-run target. The declaration was planned perfectly by Rohit Sharma with around half an hour left before tea.
It was not long after the Indian bowlers and fielders worked their magic, as England was 18/2 in 8.2 and Tea was called by the umpires.
