Indian skipper Rohit Sharma alongside Australian captain Pat Cummins visited the famous Adalaj Stepwell in Ahmedabad for a photoshoot on Saturday ahead of IND vs AUS Final. To note, Rohit Sharma and Co will take on Australia in the final match of the Cricket World Cup to be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19 (Sunday).
It’s the second time in 2023 when Rohit and Cummins will meet in an ICC tournament final. Earlier, both India and Australia faced each other in the World Test Championship final in Oval. The Aussies may have won that match. However, Pat Cummins and Co. are up for a different challenge as they meet an Indian side, who are on top of their game.
Adalaj Stepwell was built in 1498
Speaking about Adalaj Stepwell, the monument was constructed in 1498. It is one of the finest works of architecture in Gujarat. The monument is a 5-storey structure of carved out Stepwell. The monument is placed on the outskirts of the city of Ahmedabad. From the platforms to galleries or walls every part of the complex structure represents the rich culture of Gujarat and it is one of the most prominent visiting site for the tourists.
During the photoshoot, Rohit stood on the left side of the trophy while Cummins was placed on the right side. Going by the history, the captain standing on the left side of the trophy has went on to grab the prized possession. The likes of MS Dhoni, Michael Clarke, and even Eoin Morgan stood on the left side of the trophy and went on clinch the cup.
As mentioned above, India will face Australia in the final match of the World Cup. To note, this is the 8th time that the Australians will be playing in the final match of the World Cup. However, they are up against a spirited Indian side. It must be mentioned that India are yet to lose a match in the competition. It remains to be seen who will come on top at the night of the finals and lift the prized trophy.
