Team India star batter Rishabh Pant is currently undergoing an intensive training programme at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, hoping to make a successful return from a career-threatening accident. It must be noted that Rishabh Pant suffered a near-fatal car accident last December during his away to his hometown Roorkie. The Southpaw missed India’s T20 World Cup 2022 and the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup, apart from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant was seen running on a treadmill in NCA, which has now been revealed to be a state-of-the-art ‘Anti-Gravity Treadmill’.
The equipment is also used to train astronauts
The AGT equipment is mainly used during rehabilitation by international athletes, which deals with lower body recovery. The treadmill was developed in collaboration with NASA by Alter, who use the machine to train their astronauts. The purpose of this machine to make the runner feel lack of any upper body weight, and keeps the person fixed at one position while running, giving the sense of jogging on the moon. The cost of the equipment is around INR 4-7 crore, which is readily available at the NCA for players under rehabilitation.
In between his recovery, Pant has been often seen visiting temples and pilgrimage sites such as Kedarnath and Badrinath. Recently, Rishabh Pant also celebrated the birthday of veteran VVS Laxman at the NCA.
Speaking about Rishabh Pant in the international arena, the left-handed batter has made the biggest impact for India in Tests, making stellar performances in SENA countries. The 26-year-old has played 33 Tests, 30 ODIs, and 66 T20Is, amassing 4,123 runs which include six centuries and 19 fifties.
