WATCH: Rishabh Pant takes blinder of a catch to dispatch Steve Smith in IND vs AUS Test

Steve Smith fails to score big runs in both innings of Perth Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy

India Cricket Team are inching closer to a historic Test win in Perth. Day 4 started with Mohammed Siraj dispatching Usman Khawaja. But the biggest blow for Australia came later on when Rishabh Pant flew like a kite to take a blinding catch as ace batter Steve Smith had to walk back to the pavilion.

Mohammed Siraj has been breathing fire early on Day 4. But it was Rishabh Pant who stole the show with his exceptional dive, following it with a sensational catch as Steve Smith was dismissed after scoring 17 runs.

Steve Smith Dismissal

In India’s quest to wrap up the Perth Test, the visitors needed something special. After the early dismissal of Usman Khawaja, both Steve Smith and Travis Head settled in. The duo continued to frustrate the Indians by stitching a much-needed 50-run partnership.

Jasprit Bumrah then decided to bring in Mohammed Siraj into the attack and it paid dividends. A brilliant delivery pitched outside off saw the ball straighten itself as it reached Smith. The batter a bit flustered failed to adjust as the red cherry took a slight edge after striking the willow.

Rishabh Pant was ready to anticipate what came next. He immediately dived to his right like a hawk and took a stunning one-handed catch at full stretch. The wicket was extremely crucial, as now Australia find themselves in a huge state of bother.
