Rishabh Pant, the Indian keeper-batter, was sighted at Mumbai Airport on Tuesday with a few admirers on his side and some of the people escorting him. The left-handed batter was wearing a knee brace on his right knee but was walking without crutches. He was in a fairly jovial mood, interacting with the paparazzi at the airport. The 24-year-old looked comfortable walking on his own without support, with his limp decreasing by the day. However, he still had the brace on.
Rishabh Pant missed the IPL 2023 and will not play part in next month’s World Test Championship final. The left-hander is likely to be ruled out of all action in 2023, including the Asia Cup and the World Cup. However, there are positive signs with his recovery, with the Delhi Capitals skipper making a quicker recovery to full fitness.
Pant spent the past few weeks at the NCA continuing his rehabilitation. The left-hander began training in the gym as he took baby steps towards a return to action. In the past few weeks, the Indian keeper has had his strapping removed from his ankle, suggesting a recovery. It is unclear why Pant is in Mumbai, but he could possibly have travelled for further treatment. The DC skipper was treated at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai under the supervision of the BCCI.
