Rilee Rossouw walked in at number three and continued where Warner left off. The South African spoiled the good over of Curran by hammering him for two boundaries in the 11th over. Shaw, on the other end, played second fiddle to Rossouw and registered his first half-century this season. Rossouw and Shaw stitched a 54-run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Sam Curran again brought Punjab back into the contest by removing Shaw for 54(38). Rossouw got to his maiden IPL half-century and ensured the Capitals offer no respite to the Punjab bowlers.

Making his comeback, Shaw also played a brilliant knock of 54 runs in just 36 balls. Definitely, after long (feeling good). Sometimes you have to work hard for it. This was the match, I had to work hard, you get the credit later. It’s coming onto the bat nicely. The new ball is seaming a bit but it’s a good wicket to bat on as well. There’s dew. There was dew before the game started as well. It’s the same. If you find the gap, it’s going nicely along the ground. It (finger) hurts, but I am sure I will be fine. I think it’s a very good score, it’s not really easy to bat in the powerplay as it’s seaming a bit.
