Shubman Gill CENTURY: IPL 2023: RCB vs GT: It does not very often that a King Kohli special century gets overshadowed in a match but that’s exactly what happened as Gujarat Titans’s Shubman Gill scored a stunning century to knock RCB out of the Playoffs race. Chasing 198, Gill displayed some scintillating shots as he kept GT going despite losing a few wickets toward the end. With the last league match being done and dusted, the top 4 teams who will compete in the Playoffs have been decided. While Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings have secured the top 2 spots, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians have secured the 3rd and 4th spots, respectively in IPL 2023 playoffs.

Gill’s top-notch inning was laced with 5 fours and 8 sixes. The opener didn’t look in any trouble from the start and kept the temp going despite losing his opening partner Wriddhiman Saha early. Gill received brilliant support from all-rounder Vijay Shankar who scored a brisk fifty. The pair stitched a stunning 123-run partnership which kept the visitors ahead in the chase.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss at Chinnaswamy Stadium and invited the home team to bat first. RCB’s dynamic opening duo Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis put on another fifty-plus partnership. However, Du Plessis’ wicket gave an opening to Gujarat as they picked a couple of quick wickets to put RCB on the backseat. However, Virat Kohli kept going and scored an unbeaten 101 off 61 balls to power the hosts to 197 for 5 in 20 overs. In reply, after losing Wriddhiman Saha early, Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar (53) kept scoring runs freely. However, Shankar’s wicket, followed by David Miller’s wicket, gave RCB some hope but Gill just put the game to bed in the final over with an unbeaten 104 off 52 balls.
