Rizwan & Shafique formed crucial partnership for PAK

Pakistan were in deep trouble when Abdullah Shafique and Rizwan joined the crease. The duo never looked in any sort of trouble as they continued to milk single and doubles before hitting odd boundaries. After the fall of Shafique, Rizwan took the onus on himself to upgrade the run-rate as he played some mesmerizing shots.

“Thanks to Allah. Always a proud moment for your country when you perform for them. It was a tough chase. The belief was there that we could chase it down. Yes, Babar Azam got out. It was a team game and we knew we could do it. The wicket out there was good to bat on, said Rizwan after his match-winning knock.

I spoke to Shafique and the talk was on breaking down the innings and take it 20 overs at a time and set small targets to get the win. It was a sporting wicket and that helped me a lot. The cramps were there, but now I am feeling fine. It happens with me sometimes. Was in pain but fought through it,” Rizwan added.
