IND vs AUS 1st Test: Australia’s Nathan Lyon was seen asking Rishabh Pant about his future IPL team during the IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth. In a video going viral on social media platforms, Nathan Lyon took the opportunity to distract Rishabh Pant from batting and asked him as to which team he would be going in after the IPL auction. Pant smirked and said he had no idea. The Australians seemed to be aware of what Pant can pull off and hence kept on distracting him.

Rishabh Pant, Nathan Lyon friendly banter

As stated above, Rishabh Pant and Nathan Lyon were seen discussing the auction in the middle. Pant was not retained by Delhi Capitals, and he will be up for grabs. Several franchises are looking to add him to their squad. He is likely to go for a huge amount, with former Indian players like Irfan Pathan and Suresh Raina saying that he could break Mitchell Starc’s record of being the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.

Punjab Kings have more than Rs 100 crore in their purse, and they are the front-runners in getting Pant. Ricky Ponting is the new head coach of the franchise, and he shares a close bond with the left-handed batter, having worked with him at Delhi for several years.

In IPL, Rishabh Pant has some fantastic numbers. The left-handed batter has played 111 matches and scored 3284 runs at a strike rate of almost 150. He also has 18 fifties and one century to his name. In IPL Rishabh Pant averages above 35 which is more than handy considering that he bats in the middle order. It remains to be seen which team will bag Pant in the upcoming IPL mega auction.
