Ready and inching closet to a mega comeback is India Cricket Team‘s ace pacer Mohammed Shami. The speedster was injured after the ODI World Cup 2023 and underwent a surgery on his ankle. And now as things stand, Shami has begun high-intensity training in the field, thereby showcasing that his comeback is not very far away.
Mohammed Shami was in extreme pain on his Achilles heel and underwent the knife later on. Following which he has been missing action for almost 9 months. While he began light training a couple of months ago, now the speedster has begun his high-intensity training.
Mohammed Shami gears up for Comeback
For the last couple of months Shami is undergoing his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Initial reports claimed that Shami would be fit in time for the IND vs BAN Tests. This meant he however wouldn’t play any part in the Duleep Trophy.
But those plans have now been put on hold. The BCCI has no plans to fast-track the case as there runs a risk of triggering a further injury.
Thus it can be understood well that Shami would be playing in the Ranji Trophy before getting the call-up for the IND vs NZ Test series. But for Team India, the most important series will be the Border-Gavaskar series, slated to take place later this year.
