How long can you keep a great bowler out? Mohammad Shami answer that with a world class delivery to dismiss Will Young in IND vs NZ (India vs New Zealand) clash. After spending four games on the bench, he finally got a chance in Cricket World Cup 2023 with Hardik Pandya missing out due to an ankle injury. And it did not take long for Shami to make a mark.
Mohammad Shami did not bowl with the new ball. Instead, he came in the 9th over, replacing Jasprit Bumrah. But it only took him a delivery to make a mark.
In his the first delivery, Shami cleaned up Will Young. It was a length ball that swung in a bit and as Will Young tried to cut it, it takes an inside edge and shatters the stumps.
With that wicket, Shami also surpassed Anil Kumble to become India’s third highest wicket-taker after Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath who has 44 scalps each.
