Virat Kohli six hits security, Nathan Lyon rushes to comfort him during IND vs AUS Test

Virat Kohli impressed on Day 3 of the 1st Test in Perth, building momentum with elegant shots after a strong opening partnership. In between the match, his shot unexpectedly hit a security guard.

India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, made a strong start in Day 3 of the IND vs AUS 1st Test at Perth’s Optus Stadium. In India’s second innings, Kohli played some beautiful shots, building on the momentum from a historic opening partnership between KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. A shot from Kohli’s bat directly hit a security guard who was sitting cross the boundary, which left India’s batter concerned.

In the 111th over, Mitchell Starc bowled a short and wide delivery, and Kohli responded with a sharp upper cut. The shot was so powerful it flew beyond the boundary, bounced, and unexpectedly hit a security guard on the head. The security guard, seated by the boundary and watching the crowd, didn’t see the ball coming. The Australian physio quickly attended to him, performing a concussion test, and confirmed he was okay. Kohli, seeing what happened, looked concerned, and even Australian spinner Nathan Lyon checked in on the guard. The game paused briefly to ensure everything was fine.

Rare upper cut shot

Regarding the shot itself, it’s not a typical shot one would see from Kohli. It was perfectly timed, sending the ball over the boundary for six. Like in his previous innings, Kohli batted outside the crease, taking his time to settle into his innings.
